When it comes to your money and your future, you want somebody to really take the time to understand your financial circumstances and what you want to achieve. At Parkworth, we follow a four-step process to ensure we have all the information we need to recommend the best way forward.
All four steps involve a meeting with you to chat through our findings and recommendations, so you’re always kept in the loop at every stage of the financial planning process.
Step 1
Discovery
We always start off with a casual, introductory chat free of charge. We’ll come to your home if you would like, or you can come visit us in the office.
During our chat, we’ll prompt you to think about your ideal future. We’ll ask things like: what would you do with your life if money was no object? If you were told you had 10 years to live? Or if the world were to end tomorrow – would you have achieved everything you’d always wanted to? If not, what regrets might you have? These kinds of exploratory questions are designed to encourage you to free yourself from thinking about your current financial restraints and to simply let yourself dream.
We’ll then spend a bit of time talking about our services and how we might achieve the ideal lifestyle you’ve described. At the end of the session, we’ll turn our attention to the assets you currently have. You might not have all the information available, but that’s not a problem. With your permission, we can contact your investment and/or pension providers to gain a more accurate picture of your current financial situation.
Step 2
Strategy
We’ll go off and do our research regarding your current financial situation. This might include using a cashflow modelling tool to look at what might happen in the future based on the assets you have today. We’ll identify any areas of weakness that might limit your ability to live the life you want.
We’ll look at a broad range of strategies to help resolve these weaknesses and strengthen your financial resilience.
At our strategy meeting, we’ll explain all our recommendations in detail, including the investment portfolio we believe you should invest in based on your financial situation and risk profile, as well as our recommended approach to retirement planning. If – and only if – you’re happy to proceed, we’ll gather all the necessary paperwork and get started on the final step of the process.
Step 3
Implementation
We’ll write up a final report and send it to you prior to the implementation meeting, giving you a chance to read it and raise any questions you might have. We’ll explain and complete all the necessary paperwork at this meeting.
Once completed, we’ll submit all the paperwork and provide you with weekly updates until the plan is fully implemented.
Step 4
Review
Of course, we don’t just set up your financial plan and leave you to it. A lot can change over the years and it’s important to make sure your plan reflects those changes. That’s why we have regular reviews with our clients to ensure their plan is still on track to deliver their desired lifestyle and to make any adjustments or corrections that may be needed.
At Parkworth, we believe in the value of building long-term, trusting relationships with our clients so that we can continue to guide them through the years. We’re here to look after your finances so that you can concentrate on looking after you and yours.
