The tight-knit team at Parkworth has 30 years’ experience in providing financial planning advice to clients living in and around Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire.
We don’t try to sell you products or tell you what to do. We believe in the power of listening and encouraging people to explore what they really want from life. We’re all about helping you figure out what makes you happy and the goals you aspire to; only then can we put financial plans in place that will get you where you want to be.
Matt has worked in the financial services industry for over three decades, starting out as a trainee financial adviser with Royal London at the age of 20. By age 24, he was managing one of the firm’s London offices.
Matt’s biggest passion in life is working with people, and he takes pride in his ability to take something that looks complicated and make it simple. He likes to tell his clients there is only one question they need to answer: “What is your ideal life?” It’s then his job to work out what they need financially and to put a plan in place to ensure they can live the life they want.
Born and raised on the Isle of Wight, Matt has lived in Sussex with his wife since the mid-1990s. They have two sons together, James – who works with Matt at Parkworth – and Ryan.
When you take the time to talk to somebody and really develop a deep understanding of what makes them tick, you come to care about them and their goals almost as much as you do your own.
Our commitment to working empathetically means that we carefully weigh up every single recommendation we make and action we take to ensure it will deliver the best outcome for your circumstances. It means that we listen without judgement and treat your thoughts and opinions with respect. And it means that we’ll do everything in our power to make the process as smooth as possible, so that you never feel out of the loop.
It’s not our way to sell our clients particular products or dictate their financial plan. If we don’t think a certain product will be suitable for you, we’ll say so. If we think there’s a better option out there to get you where you need to be, we’ll ensure you know about it. Even if you come to us and, on balance, we think you may get better results by consulting another company or adviser, you can be sure we’ll be honest enough to tell you.
At the end of the day, our clients come to us and are brave enough to put their financial security in our hands. The very least we can do is offer them total honesty and transparency in return.
At Parkworth, we take our role very seriously. We understand that it’s a big thing to entrust somebody else with your financial security. That’s why we’re committed to acting fairly, ethically and with the highest standards of professional conduct, so that you have the confidence of knowing your finances are in the best possible hands.
